Teaching procedures: Procedure Content Pre-task While-task Elicit the story Warming up Methods 1、 Let Ss play a guessiong game to elicit Mr. Black and Miss. Dog. 2、 Let Ss listen to the dialogue between Mr. Black and Miss. Dog and ask some questions. 1、 Let Ss watch the cartoon and listen to the story. 2、 Ask some questions to elicit hear sb doing sth. 3、 Let Ss practise ‘hear sb doing sth’ Purpose To interest students using a guessing game and introduce the narrator. To make the test easier combining the animation and listening. To relate drills to the context of the story, enabling students to make up sentences and practice naturally within the context. To motivate students to feel the emotions as the story progresses, by learning styles of listening, reading and performing. To help students Read and act 1、 Let Ss listen to the dialogue between Tommy and Jimmy and ask some questions. 2、 Let Ss read the dialouge with them. 3、 Let Ss act out a new dialogue. Jimmy lived in the country. One day, Tommy visited Jimmy. When he got to the bus, he heard some sheep bleating. He did not like this noise. Jimmy prepared many things for Tommy. But Tommy didn’t like them. Then, he went back to the city and wrote a letter to invite Jimmy. The letter said, ‘My house is bigger than yours. I have more food, cakes, cheese and meat…’ So Jimmy went to the city. But he did not like the city at all. It was too noisy. The roads in the city were busier and dirtier than those in the country. He went to Tommy’s house. It was bigger and more beautiful than his barn. When he saw the cheese, he got very excited. Suddenly, they heard a cat meowing. They were afraid. They ran quickly along the road.
