Mao Zedong, also well known as Chairman Mao, is a great man in human history. His dramatic personal life, his military talent, his artist poems, his political skill, his famous third world classification theory and his dictator's leading style in his years have influenced generations of people。
He was the head of the Chinese Communist Party for forty-one years since the historic ZhunYi meeting (1935) during the Long March. He built the Red Army ,took part in the anti-Japanese War and the civil war in China and finally chased the Guo Ming Dang to Taiwan and established the People's Republic of China.
Unfortunately , In 1958 Mao announced the Great Leap Forward, an attempt to increase agricultural and industrial production. However, three years of floods and bad harvests severely damaged levels of production. As a result of the failure on the
Great Leap Forward, Mao retired from the post of chairman of the People's Republic of China. However, In 1966,Mao followed the failed Great Leap Forward with the Cultural Revolution, also considered to have been a disastrous mistake.Although Mao became widely revered , his cultural revolution policies led to cataclysmic death and destruction throughout china . After Mao’s death , his record was reevaluated by his successor Deng Xiaoping. Mao was praised for his contributions in the resistance against Japan and the founding of the People’s Republic ,but criticized for his mistakes in the Great Leap Forward and The Culture Revolution . Just as the sayings goes “ everyone has his faults. ”
