摘要：The present invention relates to a method and system for performing amulticast transmission in a cellular network, wherein an identification information, which
indicates terminal devices and/or areas in which authorized terminal devices are assumedto be located, is transmitted from a core network () to a radio access network of thecellular network by using a control information transmission protocol. Then, a signallingconnection of a control and user data transmission protocol is establishing based on saididentification information and used for transmitting multicast related data andcorresponding control information between the core network () and the radio accessnetwork. Thereby, already defined protocol layers can be used for implementingmulticast transmission, while modifications are minimized.
